| | | What steps are involved in printing my headshots? |
| | | If your photos were shot on film, you will first need to have an original 8x10
print made from each negative you want to reproduce. If you don’t already have
an 8x10 print, bring in your negatives and we can make a custom one for you. All
of our 8x10 prints are color corrected and adjusted for the best quality. If
your photos were taken with a digital camera, we need to receive a high quality
digital file for each shot you plan to reproduce. An 8x10 original may be needed
prior to any retouching work. See below for submitting digital files over the
Internet.

| | | Photo Quality vs. Litho? |
| | | Photo quality prints are the best quality reproduction available. Photo prints are printed on true photographic quality archival paper using traditional photographic machines that use chemicals such as developer and bleach. With this type of printing, you are able to maintain the true colors of the photo with rich, warm tones and to control the colors and density of the photograph. With our photo quality headshot reproductions, you are offered free test prints with every new setup, which will ensure accuracy of colors and skin tones. Photo quality prints are available in both small and large quantities (minimum of 25) whereas litho prints are more for bulk printing, (minimum usually 100 or 200). Litho quality prints are printed on press machines with ink and do not allow the user to control the quality nearly like that of a photo print. With litho prints, colors tend to shift and crossover, giving unpleasing results in skin tones, hair and shadows. Lithos also tend to fade and pickup a yellow cast as time goes on. Test prints are not available with lithos. For all these reasons, we do not offer litho printing, only the best photo quality prints. |
